I think they think a keepsake and a collectors item are different.
Collectors items are things that are made to be collected. They are kept in mint condition and rarely touched, but have percieved value.
A keepsake is something used and cherished. Like an old family quilt that is somewhat ragged because it's been used for 150 years.
I understand they want to keep the dolls playthings that will be cherished, and I laud that.
But if they aren't collectors items- why are there limited editions?
